Creating Your First Event
Everything in AccredTix happens inside an event — accreditation, guest lists, catering, inductions, vehicles, and more. The event wizard walks you through four quick steps, and you can change every choice later in event settings.
Where to start
You can open the event wizard from a few places:
- If your workspace is brand new, you’re taken there automatically after setup.
- From Mission Control, use the New Event quick action.
- Or navigate directly to Events → Create.
Step 1 — Details
“What’s the name of your event?” — give it a clear title your teams will recognise (e.g. Your Festival 2026).
Where is it located? Choose one of three location modes:
| Mode | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Venue | A physical venue. Search for the venue and we’ll fill in the address, or expand Add location details to enter Venue Name, Address, Town/City, State/Province, Postal Code, and Country manually. |
| Online event | No physical venue. |
| To be announced | Venue not confirmed yet — you can add it later. |
Timezone — defaults to your browser’s timezone. All event dates and times display in this timezone, so double-check it matches the event location.
Step 2 — Dates
“Add one or more dates. Ranges will be expanded into daily entries automatically.”
Two example entries are pre-filled to show the pattern — a Build range and a Show day. For each date entry set:
- Date Name — e.g. “Press Day 1”, “Build”, “Show Day”.
- Date Type — Single date or Date range. Ranges expand into one entry per day automatically.
- The date or range itself.
Use Add another date or range for as many entries as you need. Ranges can’t overlap each other.
Why dates matter: event dates are shared master data. Accreditation passes, vehicle passes, and reports all reference them, so getting these right early saves rework. You can manage them later under Settings → Event Info.
Step 3 — Modules
“Pick what you need now. You can update modules later in event settings.”
All modules start selected. Accreditation and Communication are always on and can’t be disabled.
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accreditation | Create, manage, and allocate accreditation passes for your event. |
| Accommodation | Properties, room bookings, and team allocations. |
| Catering | Meals, sittings, and catering allocations. |
| Communication | Bulk emails, news feed, and knowledge base. |
| Documentation | Request document uploads from teams. |
| Guest List | Guest list tickets, approvals, and check-in. |
| Inductions | Induction forms people complete before site access. |
| Vehicles | Vehicle data, vehicle passes, and gate checks. |
Turning a module off simply hides it — you can enable it any time under Settings → Modules.
Step 4 — Groups
“All of your teams/suppliers etc need to live inside groups.”
Groups organise the teams and suppliers working on your event, and control which modules each group can access in the team portal. We suggest some starter groups:
- Production Suppliers
- Artists
- Commercial
- Traders
- Operators
Keep the ones that fit, remove the ones that don’t, or add your own with Add custom group. Your event needs at least one group.
Press Create event when you’re done.
What happens next
You’ll see a short Launch sequence screen while AccredTix provisions your event workspace, configures modules and permissions, and sets up email templates. Then:
- A “Congrats, your event is ready” dialog appears.
- Choose Open the Event to go to the event dashboard, or Stay in Mission Control to keep working at workspace level.
Your event is created as Active, with you attached as a full-access user. Default email templates, portal pages, and your chosen dates and groups are already in place.
Your first stop: the event dashboard
The event dashboard greets you with a Good next steps checklist — a guided, ordered list of setup tasks tailored to the modules you enabled. Work through it top to bottom for the smoothest setup.
