Martyn’s Law
A note on Martyn’s Law
We are being asked by lots of users in the UK how AccredTix can help with getting ready for Martyn’s Law, formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, which introduces new requirements for certain publicly accessible premises and events in the UK to improve preparedness for potential terrorist attacks.
It’s important to note that AccredTix is not a replacement for a terrorism risk assessment, competent security advice, venue procedures or legal compliance review. However, it can provide the operational structure, data control and audit trail needed to help teams prepare more effectively and manage their responsibilities with greater confidence. Currently, the SIA who are regulating the new requirements are still finalising their guidance, but have said they do not endorse or recommend specific tools or systems.
That being said, the introduction of the bill places greater importance on having clear processes, accurate records, controlled access, trained teams and auditable operational procedures. While compliance will always depend on the specific event, venue and responsible person, AccredTix can help event teams put stronger systems in place to support their preparation.
AccredTix can support your preparedness by helping you:
-
Maintain a clear record of people, teams, suppliers, contractors and guests attending an event
-
Control access by pass type, zone, date, gate, role or operational requirement
-
Use structured forms to collect key information from teams and suppliers
-
Track approvals, rejected requests, changes and decision history
-
Manage safety inductions, toolbox talks, briefings or required documentation before access is granted
-
Restrict passes or permissions until required steps have been completed
-
Scan credentials at gates, doors or controlled areas to support live access control
-
Maintain logs of collections, scans and access activity
-
Export data and reports for review, investigation or post-event audit
-
Connect AccredTix data with other operational systems through the AccredTix API
For larger or more complex events, AccredTix can also help maintain better visibility over who is approved to be on site, where they are permitted to go, and whether they have completed the required operational steps before arriving.
